This summer, the following interns spent their days doing important work with the Hewlett Foundation in several of our program areas.
Christina Caccioppo is entering her senior year at Stanford University, where she is studying economics. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, she worked this summer with The Philanthropy Workshop West to evaluate the group’s previous programming.
Shawn Chen graduated from Stanford University in June with a degree in public policy and will finish a master’s degree (also at Stanford) in management science & engineering in December. Before joining the Foundation, he spent five months last year working at the U.S. Treasury in Washington, D.C. A Sand Hill Fellow this summer, Shawn helped the Global Development Program with its strategic plan and Board presentation. He is also conducting research into illicit capital outflows from Africa and their effect on development.
