Dear colleagues,
The Hewlett Foundation has been committed to serving disadvantaged communities since its inception, and we are pleased to announce plans for a new set of grantmaking activities designed to strengthen organizations that serve minority and low income communities. The nine foundations that participated in this project have spent much of the past year learning from representatives of communities across the state about how we can work together to better serve the people of California. This report and the grantmaking it describes are products of these conversations.
We are also happy to note the creation of a partnership between the Packard, Irvine, and Hewlett foundations, described on page 25, that will provide additional support to organizations in Northern California. We will be announcing details of this project in the months to come.
We welcome your feedback. Click here to let us know your thoughts.
