Images are powerful tools to inform and inspire action. But too often, nonprofits lack high-quality imagery that tells the full story of their work and of the people and communities they represent. Worse, sometimes the images that are most prevalent—ones available through standard commercial stock photography or news media—can be counterproductive, reinforcing stereotypes or outmoded narratives.
To help address this problem, the Hewlett Foundation has commissioned a number of photosets in recent years to help nonprofits tell their stories. Learn more about our imagery projects below.
