Overview
This organizational effectiveness grant will support training for senior management at The Wilderness Society designed to create a culture in the organization that seeks solutions to Western public lands challenges, integrates the DC, regional and wilderness advocacy arms of The Society and ensures a nimble organization ready to lead in the 21st Century. Training Resources for the Environment (TREC) will be retained to provide the training. Additionally, an outside consultant will be hired to conduct an external stakeholder analysis of The Society's organizational strengths to aid TREC in ensuring senior management is addressing the correct issues.

The Wilderness Society’s mission is to unite people to protect America’s wild places. This Western Conservation grantee organization works to make public lands a solution to the climate and extinction crises — for everyone — and grow an inclusive conservation movement to ensure all people benefit equitably from public lands. Guided by science, the Wilderness Society applies policy analysis, outreach, and communications expertise to protect and defend nature for all. It works toward enduring conservation gains that transcend politics by building meaningful relationships nationally and in communities. (Substrategy: Advance Conservation Protections)
