Overview
The purpose of this Organizational Effectiveness (OE) grant is to help Western Resource Advocates (WRA) strengthen its board of directors. As one of the Foundation's anchor grantees working on energy and environmental issues in the intermountain West, it is critical that they have a strong governing board that is also contributing to the financial health of the organization. WRA has grown significantly in the past several years, and now employs 30 people and manages a budget of $5 million. Yet it has a small board -- just 12 member and only 6 that are generally active. This grant will provide both the board and senior management staff with resources to bring in outside consultants to engage in deepening the engagement and experience of the board.
