Overview
Protecting ecologically important ocean areas, like the New England Coast and the Arctic, are crucial both for their conservation values and to address climate change. The Ocean Protection Program will work to allow marine and terrestrial environments along the shores an opportunity to adapt to a changing world and to keep major threats, such as oil and gas development, from changing them even more rapidly. This grant will support the Western Conservation Foundation’s efforts to protect America’s special ocean assets by educating decision makers, the public, and the media about the plight of the oceans and what can be done to save them.
