Overview
The Western Conservation Foundation works to engage the diverse mix of stakeholders necessary to ensure that western conservation values are reflected in public policy. In particular, the organization focuses on organizing ranchers, farmers, hunters, anglers, faith-based organizations, and local businesses in areas where these voices are particularly important to progress on western land, water, and energy issues. The organization stays in close communication with policymakers and is uniquely positioned to connect conservation policy opportunities to constituencies not typically consulted by traditional environmental organizations. This unrestricted grant would allow the organization to engage in its core activities: (1) fossil fuel impacts, (2) climate change solutions, (3) protecting wilderness, (4) mining reform, (5) energy transmission, and (6) conservation funding.
