University of California at San Francisco

For The New Generation Health Center

This grant to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), would provide continuing support for the New Generation Health Center (NGHC), a community-based program located in an economically distressed area of San Francisco on the eastern side of the Mission District with high rates of teen pregnancies. Fifty percent of the patients served by the NGHC are Latino, and twenty-five percent are African American. A primary goal of the NGHC is to increase access to reproductive health services in this community in order to decrease health disparities in terms of teen pregnancy and STI rates. NGHC also serves as a research and training site for UCSF clinicians working to improve delivery of reproductive health services.
