Overview
This grant will support the Union for African Population Studies (UAPS) in organizing the eighth African Population Conference to take place in Entebbe, Uganda, in November 2019. Specifically, the grant will fund interpretation and translation services, young scientists’ attendance and mentoring, and evidence user engagement, including activists. The conference is a platform for researchers, policymakers, program implementers, civil society, and donors to discuss African population issues with attention to investments in sexual and reproductive health, youth, and the demographic dividend. UAPS has intentionally linked the conference theme to ICPD25 by exploring Africa’s shifting population dynamics and sustainable development
