For A Project To Foster Policy-relevant Research On Extractive Industries In Low-income Countries

Overview
The Project on Resources, Development, and Governance seeks to bring together a diverse community of researchers and practitioners to collaborate on research and advocacy to promote transparent, accountable, and responsible management of natural resources in low- and middle-income countries. This grant will support the initial setup of the project. During this grant period, the project team will convene meetings in Africa, Latin America, and the United States to introduce the project and foster collaborations between researchers and policy practitioners in the natural resource sector. The team will also train and provide tailored, ongoing mentorship to scholars and practitioners to undertake joint policy-relevant research to improve natural resource governance.

The UCLA Center for the Transformation of Schools serves as a thought partner for school districts, county offices of education, and state departments of education to pursue whole-child, whole-community approaches to school system improvement and education justice. The center’s research is designed to help educational leaders implement strategies that foster positive, healthy learning environments and treat youth development and wellness as integral to the mission of preparing and inspiring future generations. for developing data and evidence for women’s economic empowerment  
The WORLD Policy Analysis Center at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Fielding School of Public Health provides access to global research, data, and maps for sharing ideas and resources on social policies. It uses data to identify effective policies and laws, publish original research, and offer evidence-based policy recommendations. It also works with organizations to translate its global policy data into community and country-level improvements. This grant will support the development of data and evidence for women’s economic empowerment. (Strategy: International Women’s Economic Empowerment)
