Overview
The Center for Security in Politics at UC Berkeley will study and explore the inextricable link between security and politics, the need for global governance and political cooperation as it relates to security risks, and will integrate research conducted at the university with practical needs of policymakers and political practitioners. The center will also be an innovative space and centralized effort to analyze and tackle critical security challenges in the current political climate, bringing together experts and researchers across the breadth and depth of the Berkeley faculty. This grant will provide flexible support to the center.

for support of the Political Psychology of American Democracy project  
The Goldman School of Public Policy (GSPP) at UC Berkeley is a graduate school that engages in research and analysis while also training students to deploy a broad toolkit for problem-solving. This grant supports GSPPs Political Psychology of American Democracy project, which will launch a three-wave national public opinion study that tracks and analyzes the publics political attitudes, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors toward democracy.

The Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at the University of California at Berkeley works to produce rigorous evidence about what works to expand education, health, and economic opportunities for people living in poverty. This grant supports CEGAs set of interconnected activities, including hosting fellowships for social scientists from East and West Africa, organizing convenings that connect African scholars to global networks of faculty and Ph.D. students for mentorship and collaboration, and increasing access to research, dissemination, and policy engagement opportunities for African researchers.
