Overview
A grant to the University of California at Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity would support the development of a detailed study of the privacy policy implications of the Internet of Things. It would fill a gap in the current literature and inform public debate by: (1) developing a contextual understanding of the IoT ecosystem; (2) identifying open research questions; (3) providing a taxonomy and framework for thinking through potential policy interventions; and, (4) separating actual risk from alarmism.
