Overview
The Tides Foundation is the fiscal sponsor for a project in Michigan to garner support from African Americans for policies to reduce global warming pollution from electricity sources. Tides will work with the state conference of the NAACP to produce a new study on the health and economic benefits in African American communities of implementing recent federal Clean Air Act rules as well as a proposed clean energy standard in Michigan. The state NAACP will work with its local chapters to distribute and publicize the study's findings.

In its first year, its activities will include member coordination, convening, and collaborative grantmaking.
