Overview
We recommend this planning grant to the Tides Center for the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC) project, in support of the "Improving Opportunities for Healthy Living" program. LCHC convenes a wide range of practitioners and organizations to advance the community health of Latinos through policy, advocacy, and networking. It is the only statewide organization with a special focus on Latino health, and it is now turning its attention to environmental contributors to health outcomes. LCHC will engage a policy assistant in the area of environmental health and global warming, with the goal of increasing advocacy efforts in this area while networking with new and old partners. This grant would further Hewlett's efforts to broaden the base of support for the range of stakeholders that support reducing air pollution and addressing climate change. LCHC has a proud record of success and is highly respected by Sacramento policy makers. (New, $50,000/1; 36% of project budget

(Substrategy: Build the Conditions for Enduring Conservation)
for the Resound Research for Reproductive Health Project
The Texas Policy Evaluation Project (TxPEP) is a project of the Tides Center. TxPEP has been generating key evidence about the impact of reproductive health policies over the last 12 years, filling a unique role in Texas’ reproductive health, justice, and rights ecosystem. It evaluates how policies and legal decisions impact access to reproductive health care and people’s lived experiences, and are a go-to source for reliable information by community organizations, policymakers, and the media. (Strategy: U.S. Reproductive Equity)
