The Policy Academies

The Policy Academies is cultivating, training and developing a more diverse generation of researchers. They pursue this by working with leading policy institutions, connecting them with diverse pools of analysts while ensuring that racial equity and economic justice are ingrained in their research practices. The grant supports an effort to strengthen the organization's financial and human resource systems.

The Policy Academies is an organization designed to train and cultivate a new and diverse generation of researchers focused on promoting racial equity and economic justice through public policy and working with leading policy institutions to ensure that racial equity and economic justice are ingrained in research practice. The grant will support the launching of the Educators and Education Policy Fellows program. In addition to summer-long intensives at leading research institutions in Washington, D.C., the program includes a weeklong module on education policy, a visit to a leading education policy organization to speak education policy experts, and the support of original research projects by education policy-focused Academy Fellows.

The Policy Academies works to prepare talented students from diverse backgrounds who are first-generation college goers and from underserved communities for careers in public policy analysis and research. The Policy Academies seeks to build and sustain meaningful diversity in the field of public policy analysis and research to improve outcomes for underserved populations. This grant will support the growing organization's internal financial and human resources capacities as it continues to expand.
