Overview
Launched seven years ago, the Knight News Challenge is a platform for sourcing innovative charitable ideas "to build more informed and engaged communities." Each News Challenge focuses on a distinct theme, soliciting ideas from a range of actors including journalists, designers, students, civic technologists and academics, news organizations, startups, nonprofits, governments, or individuals. This grant will support a new Challenge—a collaboration between the Knight Foundation, the Democracy Fund, the Hewlett Foundation, and the Rita Allen Foundation—focused on better informing voters and increasing civic participation before, during, and after elections.
