Grants to this Grantee
for closing costs and legacy preservation
A Traveling Jewish Theatre has created and presented works dedicated to exploring the Jewish experience in America since 1978. After several years of significant declines in individual and foundation support, leadership has concluded that the company is no longer able to pursue the level of artistic work that earned the ensemble its strong reputation and has decided to close its doors. This grant would enable the organization to responsibly manage the dissolution process and preserve the legacy of its unique Jewish works. The dissolution would include the assignment of the company’s most significant asset, a theater in the Project Artaud complex where two Hewlett grantees are located. This one-time support would help to ensure the company’s assets remain in the performing arts community.
