Overview
This grant supported the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development as it brought together religious leaders from across multiple denominations to participate in the UN Climate Convention Negotiations in Dubai, UAE, in December 2023 (COP28). ICSD built a partnership with other organizations, including the Muslim Council of Elders, the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development, and the World Evangelical Alliance to host a Faith Pavilion at the COP. The hope was that the presence of the leaders will provide an opportunity for dialogue, capacity building, information sharing and engagement with key stakeholders, including civil society actors, negotiators, and decision makers from around the world. The Interfaith Center also worked with a public relations firm to help publicize the various pavilion events and reach an audience well beyond those attending COP28. (Substrategy: Multilateral)
