Overview
In recognition of the Hewlett Foundations 50th anniversary, the Hewlett 50 Arts Commissions initiative supports the creation and premiere of 50 exceptional works of performing arts. This grant will support "The Gun" (working title), a play that will explore gun culture and gun violence. Knights of Indulgence Theatre United States, better known as the Imaginists, will premiere "The Gun" in the San Francisco Bay Area no later than December 2021.

It reaches 5,400 people each year through a series of performances and educational programs that are often site-specific, bilingual, and reflect the organizations commitment to including a wide range of voices in its artistic processes. Support of the Imaginists aligns with the Performing Arts Programs Communities strategy.
