for general operating support
TechCongress is a nonprofit organization founded to bring diverse technology talent, ideas, and training to Congress. The organization places computer scientists, engineers, and other technologists as advisors to Congress through early and midcareer fellowships. Fellows’ work spans issues including congressional operations, election security, data privacy, artificial intelligence ethics, the future of work, defense technology, and autonomous vehicle and drone regulations. TechCongress’ ultimate objective is to galvanize Capitol Hill to independently hire staff with technical skills and to build its own mechanisms for sourcing technical expertise. TechCongress will have achieved success when Congress is solving its own tech deficit and TechCongress is no longer necessary.
