A grant to Stanford University will support the Legal Design Lab. Since its creation, the Lab has focused on three areas: access to justice innovation, privacy policy and consumer contract design, and design-driven innovation for law schools and organizations. More recently, the Lab has developed and launched services such as the legal help text-messaging platform Wise Messenger, the self-help navigator platform Navocado, and a postdisaster legal help app Flood Proof. This grant will help the Lab increase its impact by extending its projects to field research and draw on machine learning and AI to build powerful tools for the people that need them most.
