Overview
Stanford Jazz Workshop brings prominent jazz artists to teach and perform in the Bay Area each summer. Its four main programs include an annual all-ages Jazz Residency, a summer Jazz Camp for young people aged 12 to 17, the annual Stanford Jazz Festival, and a smaller year-round jazz afterschool program for middle and high school students. The two-week camp and one-week residency serve more than 800 participants, with scholarships available to approximately 20 percent of its students. This grant to Stanford Jazz Workshop advances the Performing Arts Program's Youth Strategy through its Program Delivery substrategy by providing support for the organization to navigate upcoming leadership transitions.
