Grants to this Grantee
for support of education leaders who are addressing issues of equity and education in the South
The Southern Education Foundation is a national leader in the civil rights and social justice fields. This grant will enable it to support a spectrum of diverse leaders who are dedicated to addressing racial, economic, and academic disparities, while also focusing on expanding educational opportunities for students who are underserved. By providing stipends, facilitated learning experiences, and opportunities to meet and learn from peers and experts, these leaders should be better positioned to implement equitable learning opportunities for students in the South.
for support of organizations that protect vulnerable children and youth
The Southern Education Foundation is a public foundation with a mission to advance educational equity and excellence for all students in the South, particularly low-income students and students of color. The foundation will manage a rapid response fund for vulnerable youth, pooling contributions from multiple foundations. Protecting and empowering minority and immigrant children and equipping their schools to create a safe environment is essential to safeguarding the civil rights of at-risk students and their families.
