Overview
This grant will support the Sonoran Institute's work in the southwest desert of Arizona to permanently protect one million acres of Bureau of Land Management roadless land and to promote the appropriate siting of large scale solar energy projects. This project is a unique opportunity to link together already-secured areas in the Sonoran Desert with new protections, provide for the movement of wildlife between areas and to plan around the needs of large scale solar energy projects.
