This grant would support an innovative effort by the Sonoran Institute to convene solar energy developers, utilties, electric transmission planners, and conservation organizations to identify the state’s best solar sites with the fewest environmental conflicts. The agreed upon sites will be provided to state and federal planners for inclusion in a solar energy land use plan scheduled for completion at the end of 2012.
