Overview
Grounded.org, a project of the Social Impact Fund, seeks to inspire new audiences to climate action. The project’s Tradesforce pilot will recruit clean energy workers through high-profile community events. Through their recruitment, the pilot seeks to increase public support for new clean energy and green trade jobs, reframing these jobs for audiences that haven’t thought of themselves as climate workers, while also reframing trade careers for audiences that haven’t seen themselves as trade workers. for A Day of Unreasonable Conversation
Popular culture has an extraordinary power to shift perceptions. TV writers, producers, and executives are among the most influential changemakers of our time — yet strikingly few opportunities exist for members of the content-creation community to gather and discuss how to better wield this far-reaching cultural impact. A Day of Unreasonable Conversation is a fiscally sponsored project of Social Impact Fund that hosts an invitation-only annual convening that brings together television content creators, frontline activists, foundations, and changemakers, is expressly designed to equip creators of television — including writers, artists, producers, and executives — with new ideas and interlocutors. At a time of immense societal turmoil and division, this project’s goal is to energize writers’ rooms and empower them to move the story of progress forward. This year’s gathering will focus on the topic of political polarization and conflict, two of the most important factors weakening our democracy.
for support of the Kerry Washington Foundation
In America, too many people feel like they don’t matter. This sentiment has been hardened by a social, economic, and political system that is neither responsive to the people, nor representative of everyone who calls this country home. For our country to work, we must undergo a fundamental transformation that allows all voices to be heard, because our democracy belongs to all of us. This grant will support the KW Foundation’s Vision Into Power Cohort and the Influence Change initiative, which focus on expanding voting access and encouraging turnout, empowering grassroots leaders and shaping the narrative around civic engagement.
