Overview
Silicon Valley Creates is the largest nonprofit arts council in California, providing a comprehensive suite of programs that provide funding, capacity building, and promotional services that support the creative sector throughout Santa Clara County. This grant will support the development of the Creative Center at Japantown Square, a 5.75-acre mixed-use development that will provide a permanent home for more than two dozen artists and arts organizations, including at least three Performing Arts Program grantee organizations.

Silicon Valley Creates, better known as SVCreates, is a regional arts service organization whose mission is to accelerate Silicon Valley’s creative culture. Focused on the creative sector of the South Bay, including San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, it builds capacity, raises value and visibility, and increases access to arts and creativity. SVCreates supports more than 650 organizations and their communities with programs that provide grants, technical assistance, incubator initiatives, convenings, award programs, and publications. Support of SVCreates advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy by providing resources to a diverse range of artistic and cultural practices in the Silicon Valley area.
