The county-wide Artspiration initiative within the Santa Clara County Office of Education grew out of a comprehensive master planning process, and was launched in 2010. With a recent leadership change, a move to the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) unit within the county office, and a national search for a new county superintendent, Artspiration staff is undertaking an evaluation of its dynamic arts education programs that include teacher professional development, advocacy, and community engagement. Renewed support for the initiative would enable staff to refresh and expand Artspiration’s programs, enhance communication and online resources, and mobilize parents, educators, and students as arts education advocates for equitable access to the arts.

for support of Artspiration countywide arts education initiative
After conducting an arts education master planning process, the Visual and Performing Arts Department of the Santa Clara County Office of Education launched Artspiration in 2010, a county-wide initiative that aims to make meaningful arts experiences regularly available to students. Support for the initiative would enable the department's staff to expand professional development for teachers, enhance online resources, mobilize parents, educators, and students as arts education advocates, and develop programs and school environments that provide equity and access to the arts for all K-12 public school students in the county.
