The Bay Area Cultural Funders for Equity Fund is a project of the San Francisco Foundation that connects public funders, independent community and family foundations, philanthropic advisors, and donors in a collaborative effort to advance community well-being. The fund's activities, including learning and joint grantmaking, are focused on amplifying the voices, power, arts, and cultures of people of color and other vulnerable communities in the region, particularly those living at or near poverty. In its first phase of grantmaking, the fund awarded $1.2 million to 30 Bay Area arts organizations aligned with its mission. Support for the fund advances the Performing Arts Program’s overall strategic framework.
