Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
The San Francisco Foundation (SFF) is one of the nation’s oldest and largest community foundations. SFF serves residents across five Bay Area counties with a focus on advancing racial equity and economic inclusion. As part of its work, SFF seeks to protect, preserve, and produce affordable housing, collaborating with community groups and local, regional, and state stakeholders in government, philanthropy, and the private and nonprofit sectors. SFF is taking on the region’s housing crisis in a concerted and strategic way, making sure that solutions benefit communities in greatest need. This grant will support SFF’s priorities during the grant period.
for the Bay Area Livable Communities Initiative
This grant would support a regranting program of the San Francisco Foundation called the Great Communities Collaborative. The Collaborative works to ensure that the $12 billion in public infrastructure funds being spent on mass transit upgrades and expansions in the Bay Area over the next decade are well spent. Specifically, the group seeks to deliver reductions in car and truck pollution and creation of transit station areas with a mix of jobs, housing, and commercial development that reduces sprawl in the region and provides access to housing and jobs for people who cannot afford a car.
