for general operating support
The San Francisco Boys Chorus is one of the nation's oldest choral groups for boys, a Grammy Award-winning organization that is committed to providing high-quality music instruction, performances, and touring opportunities for the more than 250 boys who comprise the group. The choristers, all of whom are provided with scholarships of various amounts, range in age from five to eighteen and hail from 120 Bay Area schools at instruction sites in San Francisco, Oakland, and Marin. The Chorus prepares its members for productions of the San Francisco Opera, Symphony, and Ballet, and attracts more than 100,000 audience members to its public performances. Continued investment would provide stability while the Chorus develops its leadership capacity, builds and trains its board, and makes succession plans for its artistic and financial directors.
