Overview
RSF Social Finance (RSF) is a U.S. based nonprofit financial services organization. RSF has served as the fiscal sponsor for the Pawanka Fund since its inception in 2014. Both organizations share values and principles and decided to work together to promote indigenous peoples’ rights and self-empowerment. The Pawanka Fund is a global Indigenous-led fund that responds to the needs of indigenous women based on relationships of trust, solidarity, and complementarity. Its mission is to strengthen self-determined development by investing directly into revitalizing traditional knowledge and learning systems that safeguard indigenous lands, territories, and their governance models. For this, the Pawanka Fund works through its regionally anchored model of comprehensive partnerships with local communities that includes but is not limited to direct monetary and nonmonetary support to their 500+ partners in more than 83 countries with a special attention to their growing work in Africa.
