This grant supports RMI (formerly the Rocky Mountain Institute) in a new portfolio to help support and accelerate green industrial strategies. RMI will partner with institutions to improve the quality and dissemination of information and analysis about global supply chain needs, clean energy deployment progress, and industrial competitiveness, as well as cultivate new practices and help advance new ideas and establish institutions.

RMI’s mission is to transform the global energy system to secure a clean, prosperous, zero-carbon future for all. This grant for RMI’s China Program will support work accelerating carbon neutrality in China by enabling policy, technology, and market mechanisms to decarbonize the power, heavy industry, infrastructure, and transportation sectors.

The organization has launched the Accelerating Clean Regional Economies initiative, focused in the Great Lakes region, to work with economic development organizations, policymakers, business, labor, and community stakeholders to support green growth investment strategies and the policy frameworks needed to accelerate them. The initiative is also helping economic development organizations quickly learn the ins and outs of clean technology deployment.
