Overview
The Public Service Accountability Monitor (PSAM) strengthens public resource management through citizen oversight and engagement. With this grant PSAM will train and mentor civil society actors, deepen learning with partner civil society groups across Africa, evaluate the effectiveness of their interventions, and share lessons learned with the transparency and accountability field.

The Public Service Accountability Monitor (PSAM) is a program in the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University. PSAM generates evidence-based social accountability tools and supports capacity building of civil society groups to use those tools for advocacy. PSAM also undertakes monitoring of expenditure and service delivery performance in selected government departments in southern Africa. With this grant, PSAM will train and mentor civil society actors, deepen learning with partner civil society groups across Africa, evaluate the effectiveness of their interventions, and share lessons learned with the transparency and accountability field.
