Strategies
Overview
Rising seawater associated with climate change poses one of the biggest threats to those who live close to the shore of the San Francisco Bay. One of the best strategies to mitigate the impacts of sea level rise is to restore the wetlands that have been converted to salt ponds around the Bay. This supplemental grant to the Resources Legacy Fund will be used to educate the public on the value of salt pond restoration for flood control and habitat, and identify policy options available to accomplish the work.
