for general operating support
Public Policy and Education Fund of New York empowers low- and moderate-income New Yorkers to win social, economic, racial, and environmental justice. The fund builds power through community organizing, grassroots leadership development, political education, mass engagement, coalition building, policy development, and deep, long-term collaborations. It is a statewide multiracial, multicultural organization of poor and working class people, with strong bases in eight regions of the state, and an effective track record of leading coalitions that impact state policy decisions.
for support of multistate family engagement around educational priorities
The Public Policy and Education Fund of New York is a grass-roots organization that focuses on education, economic, and environmental issues in underserved and underresourced communities. This grant will support the fund as it partners with other community-based organizations in select cities across the country to convene groups of parents, students, and families, who are the immediate and direct beneficiaries of public education. These meetings will allow the fund to gather stakeholders’ insights and opinions about changes they want in public education.
