Overview
Basta is a young nonprofit organization with the goal of bridging the employment gap by recruiting and preparing first-generation college students to secure and thrive in their first jobs. Its flagship program is a blended learning fellowship for late-stage college students and recent graduates. The program is designed around three core tenets: (a) making the job search process transparent, (b) providing access to professionals, and (c) equipping students with tools for success. Through in-person workshops, virtual sessions, one-on-one coaching, and employer events and connections, students are able to meet their goals. The foundation’s support to Basta will help it continue its efforts and grow beyond its New York base.
