Equity in the Center is a fieldwide initiative to influence social sector leaders to shift mindsets, practices, and systems to achieve race equity, which is the condition that would be achieved if one’s race identity no longer influenced how one fares in society. The group believes race equity is possible and supports foundations and nonprofits in their proactive counteraction of social and race inequities inside and outside of their organizations. Their three-pronged strategy to achieve race equity aims to accelerate leaders, support organizations, and inspire action. This grant is part of the Knowledge for Better Philanthropy strategy, as Equity in the Center creates and disseminates knowledge about how to build a race equity culture.
