Overview
The Prison University Project works to provide higher education programs to incarcerated people, to create a replicable model for such programs, and to stimulate public awareness and dialogue about higher education and criminal justice in California. Hewlett Foundation support will allow the organization to establish a formal technical assistance program to support and train new practitioners in the field of prison higher education. The work supported by this grant will also improve their systems in key areas, in order to strengthen the quality of the knowledge and models to share with other organizations.
