Overview
Power California is a statewide civic engagement organization that elevates the voices of youth and young adults through leadership training, narrative change and cultural strategy, field campaigns, and organizing programs. Composed of 24 community-based organizations, it collectively engages over 200,000 young people each year. Power California helps build engagement capacity in selected communities, coordinates its members, and trains young people as cultural leaders and spokespeople. Support for Power California advances the Performing Arts Program’s overall strategic framework by strengthening the ability of young people in the Bay Area, as well as throughout the state, to employ the expansive power of the arts in civic engagement efforts toward improving their communities.
