Overview
This supplemental grant will support Population Action International to provide civil society organizations in Francophone West Africa with funding and assistance to develop locally owned advocacy campaigns and strategies in support of better policies for family planning and reproductive health. Over five years, the organization will expand and deepen advocacy work and partnerships in Francophone West Africa, and further support the growth and development of strong civil society champions. Grants to this Grantee
for support of dissemination about U.S. policies to local advocacy organizations
This grant will enable Population Action International (PAI) to enhance locally led and owned advocacy efforts in East and West Africa with a focus on mitigating harm of the Mexico City Policy, also known as the Global Gag Rule. PAI will document the impact of funding cuts on global health efforts in Kenya, Uganda, and countries in Francophone West Africa; and strengthen local advocacy to call for government ownership of, and leadership and investment in, sexual and reproductive health and rights.
