Grants to this Grantee
for the Guardian Fund
The Guardian Fund, a fiscally sponsored project of Policy Impact, is a pooled fund that invests in safety and security infrastructure for nonpartisan, pro-democracy civil society organizations and actors. It primarily supports efforts that provide free or low-cost services to individuals and organizations who have come under threat for their engagement in efforts to protect the norms, values, and/or institutions essential to a functioning democracy. These resources address needs including physical security, cybersecurity, legal support, crisis communications, threat monitoring and analysis, mental health and wellness, and employment and financial support.
for support of the Democracy Funders Network
The Democracy Funders Network, a fiscally sponsored project of Policy Impact, is a cross-ideological learning and action community for donors concerned about the health of American democracy. Its programming spans cross-cutting topics such as authoritarian populism, inclusive democracy, social cohesion, democracy in the digital age, declining civic culture, and democracy reform. Its offerings include online and in-person programs, a quarterly book club, philanthropic advising, an annual retreat, and tools, resources, and reports for the field. It is also hosting a new working group for funders interested in political violence issues.
for support of the Patriots and Pragmatists project
Patriots and Pragmatists, a fiscally sponsored project of Policy Impact, is a cross-ideological network and convening space through which civic leaders and influencers debate, envision, and realize a brighter future for American democracy. The project was founded on a simple proposition: that people of goodwill from across the political spectrum could put aside their differences to explore together how to address the various challenges facing American democracy. Intentionally curated and well-facilitated convenings, along with active network weaving, are the centerpiece of the project’s work, enabling participants to build deep and lasting connections across ideological and disciplinary lines.
