Policy Impact

This grant will support the Democracy Communications Collaborative, a fiscally sponsored project of Policy Impact. It is a partnership of practitioners and funders committed to growing the pro-democracy coalition through creative and sophisticated communications.

Policy Impact, an education nonprofit, will organize the California Legislative Staff Education Institute, which is dedicated to improving public policy decision making through professional development for legislative leadership, policy, and fiscal staff. The institute will engage participants in studying state and local implementation of California’s accountability and assessment policy and practices. Participants will increase their knowledge of policy implementation and develop bipartisan and bicameral relationships that can lead to increased collaboration and more effective policy outcomes.

This grant to Policy Impact will support ongoing development of a network of co-funders and grantees that are working to improve political practices and defend essential norms in our democracy.
