Overview
PlayGround is an incubator for the development of new voices for the theater, providing opportunities for the cultivation and development of emerging playwrights, and partnerships with directors, actors, and theaters. Through the development of original plays, PlayGround supports emerging playwrights’ experimentation and risk-taking. In the 2018/2019 season, PlayGround’s lively 99-seat San Francisco theater, the Potrero Stage, hosted 150 public performances by PlayGround, resident theater companies, and short-term productions. This grant will help PlayGround hire a consultant to design the Potrero Stage Membership Program, a multi-theater collaborative program to develop audiences and enhance the earned income of its stakeholders.
