Overview
Canada’s 1.2 billion acre Boreal Forest is the traditional home to many of Canada’s First Nations and an ecologically diverse area critical to a broad array of wildlife. This renewal grant would support the Pew Trusts’ International Boreal Conservation Campaign to continue working with First Nations, business organizations, and conservation groups to secure permanent protection for half of the region and to ensure that the remainder is managed in an ecologically and economically sustainable manner.

Grants to this Grantee
for Western Public Lands protection
This renewal grant will support the Pew Charitable Trusts’ Western Public Lands Campaign, which works with communities to advance policies that protect national public lands of the American West.
for support of Pew Research Center's work on American politics
The Pew Research Center conducts some of the nation’s most respected nonpartisan survey research about American attitudes toward politics and policy. Since 1987, Pew Research has conducted a periodic "political typology" survey, sorting Americans into cohesive groups based on their values, political beliefs, and party affiliation. These studies have helped reveal substantial political and social differences within as well as across members of each political party. This grant will support additional U.S. democracy research. Results of this expanded study will provide a rich database for academics, journalists, and others studying democracy in the United States.
