Partnership for African Social and Governance Research

For IT And Systems Updates

Overview
The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) supports the production and dissemination of policy-relevant research; designs and delivers professional development courses for researchers and policy actors; and facilitates a collaborative higher education program across African countries. As a growing organization, PASGR is embarking on a number of necessary internal efforts to bolster the soundness of the organization itself. With this organizational effectiveness grant, PASGR will invest in the overhaul of two of its internal systems: (1) the upgrade, development and implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and (2) the upgrading of its IT systems, processes and policies. This will further strengthen PASGR’s organizational resilience – made even more salient by the pandemic showing the criticality of having solid IT infrastructure in an increasingly virtual world.

for strategic planning and HR planning
The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is an independent, nonpartisan pan-African not-for-profit organization. Currently engaged in more than 25 African countries, PASGR’s mission is to advance research excellence for governance and public policy in Africa. In particular, Hewlett's Evidence-Informed Policymaking sub-strategy has been a long-term supporter of PASGR’s Utafiti Sera program, which creates and supports research-to-policy communities to promote and support evidence-informed policy decision making. These Utafiti Sera communities bring together scholars, government officials, and civil society leaders working in specific sectors across Africa to collaboratively prioritize policy questions, identify and fill research gaps to respond to these questions, and draw on research findings to inform policymaking. Coming at a period of leadership transition and change at PASGR, this organizational effectiveness grant will support the development of PASGR's 2024-28 strategic plan, and strengthen change management and human resource systems therein.
