Oxfam America

For A Project To Defend And Advance Mandatory Oil And Mineral Payment Transparency

Overview
Oxfam America provides legal, technical, and campaign leadership in the defense and implementation of Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act, the oil and mining payment disclosure law in the U.S. Following the recent issuance of new rules by the Securities and Exchange Commission to implement this law, Oxfam America and their partners are embarking on a campaign to strengthen the transparency requirements of the new rules and ensure that they are consistent with similar rules in other jurisdictions, notably Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. This grant will enable Oxfam America to conduct relevant research and employ legal and regulatory interventions to defend and advocate for stronger and harmonized rules.
