Osher Marin Jewish Community Center

The Kanbar Center for the Performing Arts at the Bernard Osher Marin Jewish Community Center presents an eclectic mix of approximately 30 world, classical, vocal, dance, and literary performances at the 500-seat Hoytt Theater for 10,000 people annually. With a focus on family-friendly programming and prices, the Kanbar works across the education, lifelong learning, and health programs of the Community Center to introduce the arts as a regular part of people’s daily lives. Expanded programming during the past few years has reached out to families and more diverse audiences through Summer Nights, evening arts performances in the outdoor venue behind the Community Center, and a current pilot of Winter Nights, a similar series in winter. The Kanbar provides more than 7,000 free tickets to seniors and low-income residents every year.
