Opera San José

Opera San José is a midsized opera company serving San Jose and the San Francisco Peninsula. The organization reaches 30,000 people each year through a season of four mainstage productions of classical and new work, original film productions of operatic works, and educational opportunities for adults and children. It is known for its dedication to artists and diverse audiences, and is the only opera company in the United States with a resident company of principal artists who receive salaried contracts, including housing and health benefits. This grant to Opera San José advances the Performing Arts Program’s Communities strategy.
