Overview
The Open Space Institute (OSI) works to protect scenic, natural, and historic landscapes to ensure public enjoyment, conserve habitat, and sustain community character. This renewal grant would support the organization’s work as part of the Outdoors America Coalition, an effort to educate policymakers, citizens, and the media about the need for a reliable, steady source of federal funds for the purchase of ecologically important land in the West and beyond. The ultimate goal of the Outdoors America Coalition is to ensure that approximately $1 billion in public funds are available each year for land protection. OSI would use this grant to build support among decisionmakers and the public and coordinate with other conservation organizations with similar public funding goals.
